Les ghurides c'est fini.

 L'armée Ghuride pour ADG est terminée, soclée, vernie.
Pour une fois, j'avais pas envie de la terminer car les figurines étaient vraiment agréables à peindre. J'y suis allé tranquille, j'ai pas surchargé les socles en dehors d'un ou deux.

L'utilisation des drapeaux LBMS a été difficile au début puis plus aisée c'est pourquoi j'en ai mis autant. Ils sont chers aussi ce qui me permet de rentabiliser. J'ai aussi utiliser un drapeaux comme tapis de sol dans la tente.
Les troupes à pied sont des Grumpy alors les montées sont des Donnington pour les ghulams et le commandement, la light horse étant des Essex.
Je ne poste pas souvent mes progrès dans la peinture de mes armées car un fois le blog terminé, je n'ai plus beaucoup de temps pour peindre. Je peins donc d'abord et je poste à la fin.

The Ghurid army for ADG is ended, based, varnished.
For once, I had not the urge to end it because miniatures were really pleasant to paint. I slow painted them, I did not overloaded bases outside one or two.

The use of LBMS flags was difficult at the beginning then easier that is why I put so much. They are expensive also. I also have to use one flag as groundsheet in the tent.
The troops on foot are Grumpy and the mounted are Donnington for ghulams and command, the light horse being Essex.

WIP Ghurides 15mm

Beaucoup de projets en cours, quatre dont deux à l'arrêt, le plus avancé étant l'armée ghuride.

J'ai terminé de peindre l'infanterie cette semaine, des figurines très agréables à peindre que ces Grumpy, à tel point que je pense acheter des mings par la suite.
Le premier corps comprend quatre unités d'infanterie avec un psiloi et un éléphant. La seconde comprend les quatre autres unités d'infanterie avec quatre Lh afghanes avec javelots.
Le troisième corps sera celui de la cavalerie avec quatre ghulams et deux Lh turcomans. Il me reste à faire un peu de soclage et de finitions avant d'entamer la cavalerie lourde.

Quant au F117, c'est le premier élément pour Hind Commander.

Many current projects, four, of which two stopped, the most advanced being the ghurid army.

I finished to paint the infantry this week, some Grumpy miniatures very pleasant to paint, so much that I think of buying a Ming army afterward.
The first corps includes four units of infantry with a psiloi and an elephant. The second one includes four other units of infantry and four Afghan Lh with javelins.
The third corps will be the cavalry one with four ghulams and two turcomans Lh . I have to make a little basing and finishes before beginning the heavy cavalry.

As for F117, it is the first element for Hind Commander.

Le principe de Tarzan

Le principe Tarzan est une méthode éprouvée pour la peinture d'armées irrégulières.

Je choisis dix couleurs pour huit figurines. Pour les ghurides qui suivent, j'utilise le bleu pour le vétement principal puis le jaune pour le turban. Sur la figurine suivante, le jaune sert au vêtement principal et une nouvelles couleur pour le turban...les détails sont ajoutés à la fin.
Une fois toutes les figurines peintes, j'entame une autre série.

Ce truc m'évite de peindre les figurines dix par dix et de devenir un photocopieur à figurines.

The Tarzan method is a well-tried method for the painting of irregular armies.

I choose ten colors for eight miniatures. For the ghurids which follow, I use the blue for the main garment then the yellow for the turban. On the following one, yellow for the main garment and another color  for the turban... details are added at the end.
Once all the miniatures are painted, I start another series.

This thing avoids me painting figurines ten by ten and becoming a miniature photocopier.

Ghurides WIP

Le premier corps de Ghurides sera terminé cette semaine, je travaille sur l'éléphant et il ne restera que le général.
Les quatre premières unités de lanciers sont prêtes, soclées et vernies, il ne me reste qu'à les magnétiser.
Les frondeurs sont des Essex que j'ai peint voici dix-sept ans, mes toutes premières figurines historiques en fait.

The first corps of Ghurids will be ended this week, I'm working on the elephant and there will be only a general left.
The first four units of lancers are ready, soclées and varnished, I have only to magnetize them.
The slingers are Essex which I painted here is seventeen years ago, my very first historic figurines in fact.

Problèmes de peaux.

La seconde unité de lanciers ghurides est en cours de peinture et j'ai changé quelque peu ma technique concernant le karwah.

Le karwah sera l'élément le plus visible par mon adversaire, je dois donc le réussir. Je trouvais mon premier karwah trop propre et un peu irréaliste. J'ai donc récupéré des images de chèvres et de moutons afghans, pakistanais pour avoir une idée des motifs et il y a de quoi faire.

J'ai donc sous couché en brun foncé puis brossé chaque couleur et motif. Cette fois le résultat me convient plus et je pense continuer avec cette technique.

The second unit of ghurid lancers is in the course of painting and I changed a little my technique concerning the karwah.

The karwah will be the most visible element by my opponent, I thus have to make a success of it. I found my first karwah too clean and a little bit unrealistic. I thus got back images of Pakistani and Afghan goats , sheeps to have an idea of the motives and there is of what to paint.

I thus have first painted in dark brown then brushed every color and motive. This time the result suits me more and I think of continuing with this technique.

Ghurides, premier essai

Je viens donc de terminer mon premier socle de lanciers ghurides en 15mm.
J'ai commencé par le karwah, ça n'a pas été facile de rendre l'aspect peau de bêtes et je suis pas encore satisfait du résultat.

Pour les lanciers et les deux porteurs, j'aime varier les couleurs et j'apprécie beaucoup de peindre ces figurines même si j'ai oublié ici ou là de la couleur. J'ai donc retouché plusieurs fois chacun. Je ne me suis pas non plus trop essayé aux motifs sur les vêtements mais ça viendra.
Ces figurines Grumpy sont très agréables à peindre ce qui m'incite à investir dans une autre armée Grumpy pour 2012.
Les lances sont en métal car mes poils de balai étaient trop gros, ce sont de vraies lances, je m'en suis planté deux dans le doigt.

Le soclage n'est pas chose facile car il faut socler progressivement l'unité, au fur et à mesure des rang de soldats. Par contre, il n'y a quasiment pas de détails à mettre car une fois les huit figurines et le karwah d'installé, il n'y a guère de place sur le socle.

Le drapeau est un LBMS, la calligraphie arabe en 15mm n'est pas mon fort.
J'ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à peindre cette unité et j'ai hâte de peindre les huit autres, cette unité n'est pas terminée il me reste à la nettoyer et à la vernir..

I have thus just ended my first base of 15mm ghurids lancers.
I began with the karwah, that was not easy to return the aspect of a skin of animals and I am no still satisfied by the result.

For the lancers and both carriers, I like varying colors and I appreciate a lot to paint these figurines even if I forgot here or there some colors. I thus retouched several times each ones. I did not venture either too much on the motives on clothes but that will come in time.
These Grumpy figurines are very pleasant to paint what incites me to invest in another Grumpy army for 2012.
Lances are in metal because my broom's hairs were too big, they are the real lances, I got it all wrong two in the finger.

The basing is not an easy matter because it is necessary to base gradually the unit, according to soldiers' row. On the other hand, there are almost no details to be put because once eight figurines and karwah of installed, there is quite no place on the base.

The flag is a LBMS, the Arabic calligraphy in 15mm is not my strong point.
I took a lot of pleasure to paint this unit and I look forward to painting eight others.
This unit isn't finish, I still have to clean and varnish it.

Un paquet ?

Seraient les banquiers ? Pas en quelques heures. C'est la commande East Riding qui vient d'arriver avec Renato par Tom Meier et une armée Ghuride en 15mm de chez Grumpy, pour ADG.

Renato c'est pour le plaisir de peintre un Hitler en tutu rose avec un fusil à pompe.

Les ghurides représentent une dynastie persane ou afghane du milieu du moyen-âge qui chassèrent les buyides avant de se faire chasser par d'autres.
C'est du classique niveau cavalerie avec des ghulams et des lanciers légers afghans. Par contre l'infanterie est constituée de lanciers lourds/piquiers médiocres suivant les règles et qui avancent en se protégeant derrière un Kerwah, sorte de pavois sur roue.
C'est pas une bête de tournois mais elle sera haute en couleurs.

Would be the bankers? Not in a few hours. It is the East Riding command which has just arrived with Renato by Tom Meier and an Ghurid army from Grumpy minis, in 15mm for ADG.

Renato it is for the pleasure of painter Hitler in pink tutu with a shotgun.

Ghurids represents a Persian or Afghan dynasty of the middle of the Middle Ages which chased away the buyids before being chased away by others.

It is of the classic level cavalry with ghulams and Afghan light lancers. On the other hand the infantry isconstituted by heavy lancers or inferior pikemen following rules and which advance by protecting themselves behind a Kerwah, goes out of pavese on wheel.

It is not a beast of tournaments but it will be colourful.
