This week in the region of the South of Paris where I live, it is the week of the liberation from 22 till 25 August. Paris is freed only on August 25th 1944 , but the suburb is freed before and fights took place around Fresnes for example.
The anecdote of the liberation of this year (the continuation next year) is rather funny but it would have badly been able to end.

On the road of Bouray on Juine, at 40km of Paris, a motorized, armored German column makes retreat, rare thing because the German army looks like more refugees' column than other thing. We are in approximately of August 20th. Two local decide to go to raise their traps, armed with rifles.
While they look for rabbits, the column arrive so they hide in hays. But a tank commander(in priori a Panzer IV, I showed him photos) locates them, makes stop the panzer and rotate the turret.

More being afraid that of the evil, both lads dashed off without asking for their rest after German told them to leave. Big stroke of luck for both poachers.
