How to paint planes in 1/600?
The recommended painting
technique is to mount the plane on a piano wire and paint it based. The problem is rather whether you want to put a magnet for an easier transport and to vary fun.

In this case it is advisable to drill the plane to insert the magnet. After having drilled my finger, I decided to abandon the idea and just stick the magnet, as we rarely watch under the plane, it does not matter.

To start, I paint the underside of the aircraft "planting" the figure in the polystyrene or on a slot base which avoids painting the fingers.

Once dry, I paint the other side taking the aircraft by wing tips.
A faster and successfully tested method is to push the plane into polystyrene just at the dividing line between intrados and extrados then using a painting spray with white underside and the majoritary camo color upside. For the cockpit, a wash of blue ink on a white paint is enough. A final wash of black is used to age the aircraft before painting the markings.
For circular markings, I use drops of paint starting from the outside and sometimes helping me with a pen.

In terms of bases, I use a piece of 2 cents, some milliput, after a pin, all stuck to a cardboard base. I do not texture my bases so that they can be used for other wars and other environments.
I bought some stuff from Minibits to insert two dices on the base to indicate the altitude and the energy.
